Hello everyone! I apologize for my absence. I had a pretty busy week, even with Monday off. My department at work is one person short right now and, with this blah economy, we can’t hire anyone new. This means I have to do a lot more running around and going to court. This isn’t totally awful cause it gets me out of the office and I get some pseudo-exercise in while trying to make a filing deadline!
As hectic as the week was, there were some bright spots. One of these was the package I received when I came home Tuesday night! My Olive Oil Muffins from Heather at Hangry Pants!!! These are the muffins I won through Meghann’s Blogger Bake Sale.
Here’s a shot of the lovely package all together.

How amazing does that look? Heather really outdid herself with this. She allowed me to customize the muffins that she made. I chose Cranberry-Orange and Chocolate Chip. She also included two mini Jocalat Larabars. So excited to try those. Where does everyone find mini versions of Larabars? I think they’re so cute but I have yet to track them down!

This is one of the cranberry orange muffins. Heather made this batch vegan. Verdict? Awwwwesome! Since Heather makes these muffins with olive oil they are insanely moist. She had to mail these to me, but they tasted as fresh and as moist as if I got one just out of the oven. So good. I am a big fan of cranberry stuff so I loved the big berry chunks in these. Also, the addition of the orange is great. The orange flavor permeates the muffin but doesn’t overwhelm you. Also, the orange really brightens up the cranberry flavor. Love it!

This is the bottom of one of the non-vegan chocolate muffins. I thought this was the best angle to give y’all an idea of how chock FULL of chocolate chips these muffins were. When I was first opening the package from Heather I could literally smell these muffins through the plastic and aluminum foil. Now, granted I do have a bloodhound’s sense of smell when it comes to finding the sweet stuff, but these truly had this amazing fragrance before they were out of the box. And SO delicious. Again, these were super moist and the chocolate just added to that. Both these batches had a great, distinct flavor, which I think was even easier to appreciate because Heather’s base for the Olive Oil Muffins is so delish.
I’d like to send a big thanks to Heather for out-doing herself with these muffins. Great job!!!
I’d also like to thank Meghann for putting the bake sale together in the first place. Head over to her site if you’d like to contribute to her efforts to raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!
**I’d also like to thank my Dad for the beautiful Vday tulips that are in the background of my photos! I love tulips cause they remind me of the flower garden my parents had at my old house in Memphis! Thanks Dad!
Have a great Saturday y’all!
Wow, thank you for the wonderful review. I am so glad you liked them.
When baking with olive oil, the possibilities are endless.
So glad you enjoyed the muffins!
