Yes, I know that is a very cliche title. I’m feeling rather uncreative today. Nevertheless, at this time tomorrow I will be in Denver, Colorado for my cousin’s wedding weekend!
Backtracking, I just want to say I had the opportunity to attend a fabulous blogger dinner last Friday night at Candle 79 in honor of VeggieGirl being in town. There were so many amazing bloggers present (besides myself & Amelia of course, lol). It was so great to finally meet these chicas in real life. Heather was nice enough to organize the dinner and these were the other amazing bloggers in attendance:
Sarah, Olga, Caroline, Katie, Danielle, Katharine, Diana, Marina, and Amie.
I didn’t get any pictures of people, but I did manage a picture of my meal. I ordered the paella.
Here is the menu description (from NYMAG):
Spring Harvest Paella valencia rice, seasonal vegetables, smoked seitan sausage, saffron-red pepper sauce

It was really good, a little pricey but good. I had a great time! And you wanna hear something funny? I went to the same HIGH SCHOOL as VeggieGirl. I’ve read her blog for a while now and I was always saying to Amelia how she looked familar to me. I had always just chalked it up to the fact that Cleveland is like a small town sometimes in the way that everyone seems to know each other or is connected in some way. Well at dinner VeggieGirl and I discovered we went to the same highschool. She just graduated 3 years after me. Let me tell you there was probably no more than 250 girls in the whole high school so it just goes to show you we live in a very SMALL WORLD. I can’t wait to meet up with her when I’m in Cleveland for the holidays!
So I am in a very good mood right now because I have off for the rest of the week and the beginning of next week because I’m going to Denver. My cousin Megan is getting married on July 4th and she will be the first of the grandchilden on my dad’s side to get married. My dad is one of seven kids and there are eleven grandchildren total. I come from a huge Irish family and I have tons of second cousins, third cousins, second cousins once removed etc etc. Many of them will be at this wedding along with numerous aunts and uncles so I’m pretty psyched. There are a lot of events planned, but I’m really just excited to spend time with my relatives especially my immediate family. Just my immediate family=TONS of fun!
Below is what I’m wearing to the wedding (plus an unpictured silver shawl that I’m wearing during the ceremony):

The dress looks blueish, but its really purple. Purple is my favorite color so I’m happy.
I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!
I’d love to hear what you all are doing.
HAHA!! I’m still shocked and delighted about going to high school together – small world beyond belief!! Can’t wait to meet up back in Ohio
Love the details on that dress, it’s gorgeous!
It was great meeting you, we should have more NYC meet-ups
I’m also excited for this weekend, just having a grilling party with some friends…the best part? I’m in charge of the sangria!
I hope you have fun at the wedding, dance it up!

Nice dress!
So glad to have met you at dinner, even though none of us got to talk much aside from to the people right next to us. I love putting faces to the blogs! Have so much fun at the wedding.
